Some ideas to do even better for Frontiers of Interaction 2012
Just came back from #foi11 and here are some thoughts about Frontiers of interaction 2011 and 2012
First of all bravo for the initiative and the positive force in organizing this nice event. thanks!
Looking at today’s reference “TED Talks” I see one major difference
The lack of clear directions for the talks.
TED has established such a wonderful sharing and stimulating experience by making sure that each talk corresponds to a chart and respects certain criteria.
You cannot come and SELL your EGO or your product
You come to share an experience, a vision a wish to change the world for the better
Practicaly every TED talk is friendly, funny, all are engaging and very very very well prepared!
So even if Mark is a wonderful guy full of inventiveness, what he came to share with us was really his ego
Adam Somlai-Fischer, really nice presentation, but he came to sell Prezi.com
Cristopher Cunningham nice well known concept, but he came to sell his book
Dmitry Stavisky well he really came to sell evernote camouflaged into how to grow a startup
Two real moments of innovation
Zdenek Kalal with his Predator algorithm and brain powered steering of the quadcopter!
All in All good experience, really nice chance to meet some really interesting people
Loved role playing at workshops with Mark Coleran impersonating a egocentric designer (not that hard as he admitted!!)
Thanks to Matteo Leandro and all the organization! (P.S. a morning coffee and some fantasy in food are welcome!)
One Last Thing
Set up a place to share ideas, contacts and experiences to give a long tail to the event! Other than Twitter.
Bravo and keep doing better
